HARDI extends its deepest condolences to the Wolozny family on the passing of Mr. Alberto Wolozny Efszein, a visionary, entrepreneur, and the undisputed pioneer of refrigeration and air conditioning in Honduras.
Born on January 15, 1938, in a modest home in San Pedro Sula, Mr. Wolozny was the son of Polish immigrant Jacobo Wolozny and Sarah Efszein. From humble beginnings, he charted a path that would leave an indelible mark on the HVACR landscape in Central America.
Recognizing early on the critical role refrigeration and climate control would play in the region’s development, Mr. Wolozny became the first to import air conditioning units into Honduras. His foresight and determination laid the groundwork for what would become a thriving industry. Through the companies he founded — including Friopartes, which marks its 40th anniversary this year — he introduced not only equipment, but also standards of excellence and innovation that have influenced generations.
The HARDI family mourns this profound loss alongside the Wolozny and Friopartes families. Mr. Wolozny's legacy endures not only in the businesses he built, but in the comfort, efficiency, and modernity he brought to countless homes and enterprises across Honduras.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all who grieve his passing. May his memory continue to inspire and guide the HVACR community in the region and beyond.
