COLUMBUS, OH – Heating, Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) released its monthly TRENDS report, showing sales by HARDI distributors increased by 6.0% during June 2026.
The annual sales growth for the 12 months through June 2026 is an increase of 2.3%.

“6% sales growth is the second largest gain of this year,” said Brian Loftus, Senior Market Analyst at HARDI. “The gain was nice to see but is less encouraging when we consider this month has one more billing day than June of 2025. We estimate sales growth would have been closer to 1.2% with the same number of billing days.”
HARDI’s monthly distributor sales survey also calculates Days Sales Outstanding or DSO which is a measure of how quickly customers pay their bills. The DSO for June 2026 was less than 37 days and comparable to June 2025. “There is seasonality to the DSO, so we need to compare the latest results to the corresponding prior months,” said Loftus. “June has the shortest DSO of the calendar year. The persistence of the efficient processing timeline alleviates concerns associated with the soft sales growth.”
“We are midway through the important cooling season and the annual sales growth is at the lower edge of the recent 2% to 4% range,” said Loftus. “If we could break inflation then interest rates would decline and we could break through the upper edge of this range. Instead, sales growth remains near 2% after mortgage rates increased to the 6.7% area versus 6.1% at the beginning of the year. Existing home sales remain near 4 million where they have been since early 2024 while resi permits have been flat to off slightly since then. Maybe these demand drivers will improve next year.”
HARDI members do not receive financial compensation in exchange for their monthly sales data and can discontinue their participation without prior notice or penalty. Participation is voluntary, and the depth of market coverage varies from region to region. An independent entity collects and compiles the data that can include products not directly associated with the HVACR industry.
