ALLENTOWN, PA – Congressman Ryan Mackenzie (R-PA-7) recently visited Johnstone Supply - The Wallace Group, a local heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) business in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Congressman Mackenzie’s visit was led by Craig Wallace, Vice President, Johnstone Supply – The Wallace Group. Wallace and the Johnstone team shared more about the inner workings of the HVAC supply chain with Congressman Mackenzie. The discussion also focused on Environmental Protection Agency regulations on the industry’s transition away from environmentally harmful refrigerants and the long-term need for reliable heating and cooling technologies.
Wallace shared, “We were excited to host Congressman Mackenzie at our facility and show him the valuable role the HVAC industry plays in keeping Americans cool in summer and warm in winter.” Wallace added, “A major part of our industry being able to succeed is efficient government regulation. The HVACR industry is working to prevent future regulations that use harmful installation cutoffs as compliance dates. Installation date regulations create millions of dollars in additional costs that would be passed on to consumers.”
This visit follows HARDI’s Congressional Fly-In, held in May in Washington, D.C., where industry leaders—including members of The Wallace Group—met with legislators to discuss these same issues. The Congressional Fly-In event and Congressman Mackenzie’s subsequent visit reflect the deepened involvement and growing awareness among elected officials sparked by those in-person conversations.
U.S. Congressman Ryan Mackenzie represents the 7th Congressional District of Pennsylvania. Representative Mackenzie was elected in November 2024.
