Rep. Rashida Tlaib Visits EPA-Certified Refrigerant Reclaimer in Livonia

UTICA, NYMeier Supply Company was honored to welcome Congressman John Mannion (NY-22) to its Utica branch on Monday, August 18, to meet with company leadership and tour the facility. The visit provided an opportunity to see firsthand how Meier Supply serves the local and regional markets and discuss key policy issues impacting the industry.

During the visit, Meier Supply representatives shared insights into the company’s operations and some of the biggest challenges facing HVACR distributors. Topics included the transition to low-GWP refrigerants, the financial risks for distributors tied to the EPA’s use of install dates, the need for consistent regulations across federal and state levels, and the importance of promoting skilled trades in high schools.

“We appreciated Congressman Mannion taking the time to meet with us and learn about what we do,” said Dale Norton, Vice President of Meier Supply. “It was a great opportunity to talk openly about the issues we’re facing and Congressman Mannion’s history as an educator was valuable in understanding the need for promoting the trades with students.”

This visit follows HARDI’s Congressional Fly-In held in May in Washington, D.C., where Meier Supply participated in discussions with lawmakers on issues such as refrigerant policy and the impact of excessive regulation. Congressman Mannion’s visit reflects the growing legislative engagement in the HVACR industry as it adapts to new technologies, regulations, and workforce needs.

Congressman Mannion represents New York’s 22nd Congressional District and has been a strong advocate for workforce development and practical policy solutions that support local businesses.
