May 2026 brought another month of subdued HVACR distributor sales, with annual growth remaining in the lower end of the recent range after adjusting for billing-day differences. Despite hotter weather and the start of cooling season, demand showed little improvement while inventories remained elevated. As the busy season continues, distributors will be focused on reducing inventory levels and improving cash flow.
