Real Risks and False Narratives: The PFAS Fight of 2026

In 2025, HARDI State Affairs had its first full advocacy year, with all 50 states in active legislative sessions simultaneously. There were several major issues that HARDI defended the industry against, but none were as complex as PFAS. The PFAS prohibitions of 2025 were all defeated and received industry-friendly amendments thanks to HARDI and other stakeholders' advocacy efforts. However, HARDI must monitor outside influences of PFAS prohibitions, such as the European Union, and how domestic environmental groups twist foreign policy to help them achieve ulterior motives.
