HARDI Submits Comments on CARB Space and Water Heater December 2025 Workshop

On January 21st, 2026, HARDI submitted comments to the California Air Resources Board (CARB) December workshop regarding the upcoming Zero-Emission Space and Water Heater Standard. On December 11th, 2025, CARB hosted a workshop unveiling a presentation outlining their upcoming zero-emission standard.

HARDI opposes the zero-emission standard as presented, as it places HARDI members' confidential trade secrets at risk, displays confidential trade secrets to the public through an unnecessarily elaborate credit system that will eventually create bad actors, adds additional compliance costs for each participating business, and punishes businesses for supplying legal products requested by consumers.
