EPA Announces Change in Enforcement Priorities for R-410A Systems

Following advocacy from HARDI and industry partners, the EPA has announced a shift in enforcement priorities under the Technology Transition Rule, offering relief for certain refrigeration and HVAC equipment installations. The Agency says it will not prioritize federal enforcement of the January 1, 2026, installation prohibitions while it considers changes to the rule. This move provides welcome clarity and flexibility for distributors and contractors heading into 2026.
