Learn & Build Skills

Next, complete a custom 4-credit hour eLearning course in Leadership, Sales, Operations, or Financial Literacy based on the results of your KPI survey.

PHASE 3:

In-Person Workshop

Attend the 2-day instructor-led workshop taking place in Columbus, OH with program instructor, Jason Bader. View a breakdown of the workshop below.

PHASE 4:

Coaching Calls

After the workshop, you'll get 6 months of ongoing coaching, checking in on your time management, value creation, customer profitability, associate development, dead stock management, and gross margins.

Workshop Outline


Section 1: Driving Net Profit - Explore distribution's role, value, cash hunting, expenses, inventory as cash, and mistake costs.

Section 2: Covering Your Assets - Learn about inventory protection, warehouse security, accuracy, maintenance, and safety.

Section 3: The Efficient Operation - Focus on team environment, internal customers, warehouse layout, receiving dock, stocking, picking methods, shipment staging, order management, and branch transfers.

Section 4: Driving Customer Profitability - Understand cost to serve, customer ranking, resource allocation, customer retention, sales expansion, key customers, and case studies.

Section 5: Profitable Inventory - Cover inventory metrics, profitable products, poor performing lines, gross margin improvement, pricing models, product analysis, dead stock management, local product mix, and branch transfers.

Section 6: Measuring Results - Develop KPIs, operational scorecards, sales scorecards, vendor report cards, and communication strategies.

Section 7: Leading the Team - Improve communication, understand generational differences, management vs. leadership, delegation, time management, recruiting, and associate development.

PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR:

Jason Bader

Jason is the principal of The Distribution Team, which specializes in providing strategic business coaching, inventory management training and technology utilization to the wholesale distribution industry. Jason brings over 30 years of experience working in the distribution field. He has overseen various operational teams, managed small and large facilities, and served in an executive management capacity for the last 15 years of his distribution career.
