About the Report
In 2019, HARDI launched a major research initiative centered on growing its understanding of how the wholesale distribution of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) products performs relative to other market channels. The effort, known as the State of the Channel (SOC) initiative, was borne out of a desire to clearly measure whether HARDI is fulfilling its mission – making wholesale distributors the channel of choice for HVACR manufacturers and contractors. Through State of the Channel, HARDI intends to establish annual performance benchmarks of the size and shape of each HVACR product channel, thus creating trendlines to measure the relative success of wholesale distribution against its leading competitors. Additionally, through the annual completion of SOC research into HVACR industry trends, HARDI can uncover the key factors driving the growth of wholesale distribution and shine a light on those factors that threaten wholesale distribution’s position as the industry’s channel of choice.
