Honestly, how often do you get the luxury of really thinking about what you’re working on? Pausing and allowing time to be creative, strategic and thorough versus just simply checking it off the list and moving on?
While the work that we do at HARDI covers a lot of ground and moves at a quick pace, year after year we find ourselves moving quite slowly in the preparation of our Annual Conference content.
The process to deliver the high-quality content that you’re accustomed to at a HARDI event starts in February when staff and leadership start thinking about the overall theme for Annual Conference. And then we drill deeper and identify three tracks that we can use to further delineate and explore our theme. We think about keynote speakers that will be widely appealing, unique and leave a lasting impression. We then get the committees and councils involved to focus on specific takeaways that will resonate with them. We explore a range of featured speakers and topics. We leave no stone unturned to find the best content available.
And through it all, we’re looking to balance perspectives. Are we presenting new voices, as well as some tested industry insiders? Are we asking you to take a 10,000-foot perspective but also to dig down into the deep details of your business? Are we covering all the vital functions of distribution? Of the supply chain?
We hope the answers to all those questions is a resounding “yes.”
